Bennett announces marriage of daughter Jacquline June Manning

Mr and Mrs R 8 Bennett announce the marriage of their daughter Jacquline June to Ralph L Manning son of Mr and Mrs Ben Manning of Hooper Utah. The wedding occurred in March and the couple will reside in Leyton Utah.

Senior Class Plans 75 Dollar School Fund Donation

The Senior Class of 1955 expresses gratitude to the community for support during 1954 56 and votes a 75.00 fund to be used by the school board for a future purchase. The fund will accumulate across years as future classes add to it with the aim of a collaborative school item. Dr Thomas D ONeill S11 serves as Senior Class President 1954 55.

Katherine Howard to Speak at W F B C Convention

Mrs Katherine Howard named principal speaker for the annual Wom en Federation of Republican Women convention to be held in Ossper in May. Senator Barrett notes her national prominence as former Secretary of the Republican National Committee and Deputy Administrator of Civil Defense. Caspar leaders organize event with Mrs Roy Chamberlain acting chief officer and Mrs John Velous in charge of arrangements.

Charles Noble Taken to Ogden Hospital After Ambulance Ride

Charles Noble was transported to St Genedieh hospital in Ogden Utah last Sunday. An ambulance from Ogden carried him and nurse Mrs Von Embow accompanied him. He is reported to have stood the ordeal in fine shape. Mrs Noble and a friend Mrs Howard Masoner followed in Masoner’s car.

West Green River District Music Festival 1955 Highlights

The 1955 West Green River District Music Festival in Kemmerer Wyoming spanned April 29 30 with school participants including Jackson Wilton Lyman Mountainview Cokeville Star Valley Evanston South Rich Uteh North Rich Uteh Kemmerer and Big Piney. Big Piney solos and a girls double trio earned various ratings while the Big Piney High School band received an Excellent Concert rating. The festival noted weather impacted marching practice and will recognize outstanding performers at the May 16 district event with an assembly invite to the public.

International Red Cross Week Celebrated Worldwide

Volunteer members of the American Red Cross join with 72 countries during May 8 to 14 to honor founder Henry Dunant born May 6 1828 in Geneva. Observances include open houses across the United States as the movement marks its 73 national societies and Geneva Convention origins.

Dennis Piernick Wins Painting Certificate at State Festival

Dennis Piernick receives a painting certificate for his owl artwork titled Curious shown at the 3rd Annual State Spring Festival of Art in Cheyenne Wyoming April 24 29 1955. Pre-registration for first grade pupils set for May 16

A notice announces a pre-registration event for all first grade pupils on Monday May 16 starting at 1:15 p.m. Parents with children due to start in September are urged to register. Children must be six years old or will be six by September 15, 1955 to start school this coming year.

Water Supply Outlook Still Below Normal

Snow measurements through April and early May show continued deficits in the southwestern Wyoming water supply. Green River drainage 35 percent below normal, Salt River 27 percent below, Bear River 20 percent below. An overall deficiency of 12 percent from normal exists across multiple Bridger region snow courses.

Sheepmen May Assign Wool Payments

Wool growers at the University of Wyoming reported a new option to assign incentive wool payments to cover current operating expenses. The rules allow one assignment per grower and require full accounting within 60 days of receipt of the payment draft. Growers should contact their county agricultural stabilization committee for forms and regulations.

Big Piney to Hold Municipal Election May 10 1955

The Town of Big Piney Wyoming will hold a regular municipal election on May 10 at the Town Hall. Voters will elect one mayor for two years and two councilmen for four years. Nominations close May 6 at noon. Mayor Paul Viroctro and Town Clerk Rachel A Scherbel announce the proceedings.
