Wyoming Taxpayers Association calls for balanced federal budget
In Cheyenne on March 5 1946 the Wyoming Taxpayers Association echoed a bipartisan appeal from 91 members of Congress urging citizens to back a balanced federal budget for 1947. Spokesman Erle H Reid stated the budget can and must be balanced now to avoid spending beyond means and to fulfill obligations to cities and the world. The group pledged support for genuine cuts in federal spending and urged state residents to back a balanced budget policy.
