Early scores show Piney Punchers edging Hanna Miners by five at the district meet. Green River Tournament hosts 85 56 Punchers over Du Bois. University of Wyoming tops Utah State 92 77 with River ton over Cody 13 - final.
State Game Warden James B. White reported that 1963 fines for game and fish law violations totaled 27,757 people across 23 counties. Of the revenue, 27,757 went to local schools, with an additional 224,046.83 paid to state funds for taxes on department-owned property. The report lists arrests and fines by county, noting 11 violators were referred to state courts for failing to tag game, and 58 fines were issued for other violations.
The Sublette County Chapter of the American Red Cross announces a countywide fund drive March 2 to 16 with local leaders Mrs. Thomas Delgado in Pine dale and Mrs. Angela Mancini in Big Piney heading campaigns.
National Easter Seal efforts led by Hope promote March as National Easter Seal Month. The Wyoming campaign runs March 1 to March 20 with 100000 appeal letters sent. Funds stay locally with 90 percent remaining in Wyoming and 62.1 percent spent on care and treatment programs.
Wyoming reports 3691 completed interstate miles open to traffic as of the latest planning data. By 1872 the state will have 20168 miles of interstate out of 41004 total system miles, with 27 miles currently under contract and to be added when finished. Since 1956, federal and state awards total about 5.161 million dollars for ongoing construction and 1963 bids amount to about 1.79 million dollars for roughly 41 miles of work.
Mrs Margaret Mickelson was judged the top contestant last Saturday earning the title Mrs Big Piney and a trip to Jackson Wyoming on March 14 to compete for Mrs Wyoming. Sponsor Van Gas promotes the homemaker event and the community extends best wishes, hoping St Petersburg Florida welcomes the couple.
Michael Marincie, son of Mr and Mrs Philip Marinsic Sr of Big Piney Wyoming, attends Worthrp Institute of Technology in Inglewood California to study airframe and powerplant maintenance. He aims for FAA certificates and may pursue a BS in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering at Northrop Tech. The school, accredited by WASC, is famed for aerospace training.
The Noble Farrell Bar will hold a grand opening to unveil its newly remodeled interior on Saturday March 7 from 7 to 8 pm. Music will be provided by the Armstrong Orchestra and the public is invited to attend.
Wyoming will send one boy and eight other delegates to the National 4 H Club Conference in Toronto and Ottawa, Canada, Nov. 12 18, with participants from Nebraska North Dakota Pennsylvania Tennessee Texas Washington and West Virginia. Delegates must be 16 to 21 on Jan. 1 1964, active in 4 H work, and demonstrate leadership and maturity. expenses are paid by states and International Minerals and Chemical Corporation. County records due by July 1 to the state office.

The CES Past Matrons Club met March 3 at Mrs. Donald Gray’s home with ten members. They worked on a Star quilt and honored Mrs. Ardath Harmison who is moving to Minnesota. Officers were elected: James Eubank president Clarence Brawley vice president Rena Lundgren secretary. A raffle to raise funds for the TV system features a whole beef donated by Clarence Brawley and a 9x12 Italian rug donated by Kena Lungren. The drawing is April 1 at 7 30 p m at Lakarge school. prizes require no attendee presence.
On February 20 the LaBarge Community TV Corp held its annual meeting. Officers named include George Eubank with discussions focusing on the corporation’s financial status and overall business health.
