Mrs Harry E Griggs died at LOM hospital after a fall injury led to a heart attack. Her passing shocked husband Sylvester and son, with community sadness. Funeral services set for Sunday at 2.00 oclock.
The University of Wyoming Board of Trustees will hold their June meeting on June 26 and 27. Monday’s schedule includes the University Commencement with about one hundred degree and certificate recipients. Trustees include Milward Simpson, Tracy McCracken, P. M Cunningham, and others with Gov. Hunt and Supt. Anderson ex officio. The article notes the LL D honorary degree for Gen. John J. Pershing and stories of Pershing and Nelson from Kirksville days, including a remembered graduation speech and the gold medal.
State geologist Dr Horace D Thomas announces a summer program by the Wyoming State Geological Survey with co operation from the Wyoming Natural Resources Research Institute to study mineral deposits age and quality and aid possible commercial development. Dr J G Haff and Dr Arthur P Aanghe lead field work in the Black Hills Sundance Big Horns and Laramie regions with U S Geological Survey and Bureau of Mines support.
Mass will be celebrated Sunday July 2 at the DeSmet monument near Daniel Wye by Rev. John OConnor of Kemmerer. The parish extends a cordial invitation to the public to attend this service.
Mrs Margaret Fitzpatrick of Kemmerer Wyoming adapts fat collection to support the war. Her objective is to salvage fats from meat dealers for rendering, with trucks now collecting fats from local merchants and codifying the effort through youth carriers aged 8 to 14.
Addison Moffat who died of a heart attack June 18 at Sedalia, Ma is mourned at a Congregational church service led by Rev Rob Midgrey from Boston. The church was crowded as family and friends paid tribute with songs and floral tributes while plans for a funeral procession and burial at Big Purley cemetery were announced.
The Moffat family extends heartfelt gratitude to all who assisted during their bereavement and for the generous tributes and good deeds shown in memory of their loved one.
