Lions Club Clears Clinic Indebtedness After Fundraiser
The Big Piney Lions Club raised 1042 at a clinic fund raising dance and raffle to fully clear the clinic’s indebtedness. Board member Joe L. Budd announced Monday. Committee organizers were C. Robert O Neil, O. A. Fear Jr., and John Eyeni. The clinic board and Mrs Mildred Miller thank all participants and contributors, noting she earned the note without interest for the past year.

June 15 1948 cattle and hog prices showed continued strength with steers and heifers up to 34 dollars per hundredweight and top beef steers selling around 39 to 43.50. Calves, vealers and heifers posted new records as lighter stockers were less active and buyers paid strong prices for good fed cattle and several loads of cows brought 26 to 28.50. Lambs rose sharply with limited receipts and some sea spring lambs hit 26.25 to 28 indicating a high market for the period.

The Red Cross raises 30000 to equip Miss Weidner’s clinics with two new dye machines at Big Piney and Pinedale for 995 each. Pinedale has raised 148.75 with the Tig Piney drive to finish the total. Donations to Ms Francis Warner are welcomed by mail.
