Dynamic War Hero Leads Aviation Work In State
Wyoming's aviation drive is led by 26 year old state aeronautics director Buddy Faught. He promotes federal airport aid totaling about 57 percent for construction with Rawlins the first to upgrade its field. He coordinates air marking in towns, lists 81 usable airports, and pushes air age education and speedier mail routes. Faught, a Rawlins native and WWII Marine hero who survived the USS Franklin disaster, built a postwar career in aviation before becoming state director in 1947.
