Jimmy Jensen lost $200 after an encounter with a persuasive gunman while visiting hot springs near Ogden. The incident occurred last Friday night and left Jensen without his cash, leading him to advise carrying traveler’s checks and staying vigilant. The event cast a somber note on his trip for Mr and Mrs Jensen.
John Budd and F A Fear were appointed to locate county roads across North Cottonwood Horse and Beaver creeks. They left for the upper country Tuesday morning in the interests of the same.

Miss Flora E. Griggs and Captain Eugene C. Libby of Company F 8th Oregon Infantry wed at First Presbyterian with Major Gilbert officiating. Matron of honor was Mrs J Penderson and best man Lieut Alexander Davidson. Griggs was a Wyoming favorite who visited Big Piney and the ranch there during girlhood. locals wish the war fortunes bring her husband home.
The Supt of Water Division 4 announces he will visit Boulder on June 18, Pinedale on June 19 and 20, Daniel on June 22, and Big Piney on June 28. Those with proofs to present should do so then as another trip may not occur this season.
Local good roads boosters and Kemmerer businessmen secured a plan for a 20 000 dollar Green River Valley highway project spanning Opal to the Hoback government road. The state provides 10 000 dollars, the county 8 000, and 2 000 must be raised by subscriptions from benefiting communities including Kemmerer Opal Fontenelle LaBarge and Midway.
The community welcomes the Homer family back after their winter trip to Salt Lake City and hopes they choose to settle in Big Piney next fall where local schools are praised as excellent.
The local Red Cross chapter will meet at the Episcopal church next Sunday at 2 pm to prepare for Red Cross Week starting June 18. The drive aims to raise $100 million for relief to soldiers in France, urging every eligible person in Big Piney to attend and contribute.
A farewell concert in Big Piney last Friday night drew praise for Frances Perkins versatility as she performed a wide range of songs. The show, led by Bennett, highlighted the town's high regard for musical entertainment and left attendees hoping for a possible future reprise.

County Commissioner James Budge arrived in Piney on a road inspection tour. He discussed permanent road building with Valley residents and noted ongoing repairs on Holden Spur Piney and Marbleton lanes. Lon Stepp and T O Beck were named district coordinators for Opal Fontenelle and Piney districts.
The Clifton Fear store bought by Dr. M. B. Hook is being remodeled and will house the Pioneer Drug Store next week. A living area at the rear and a new soda fountain are planned to appeal to customers, with the doctor praised for his enterprise. Harry Munn left for the road Tuesday with his family.
