Favorable Livestock Conditions Continue in Wyoming
Wyoming livestock remain in excellent condition thanks to early spring feed and favorable weather. May was largely favorable for lambing and calving, with ranges carrying more feed than usual and good growth from early moisture. Sheep are in better flesh, with light losses except in the south during wet weather. Fremont County saw late May snow delaying shearing and lamb losses. Cattle are heavier on strong feed, with an above average calf crop and cows in good shape. stock cattle demand is light. Wool sales limited. much wool consigned to National Wool Marketing Corporation. Condition figures show sheep at 94 percent of normal, cattle at about 94 percent, with five-year averages near 93 and 88 respectively.
