Driver Tests Show Consetration Easy
Chrysler Engineering division reports a Detroit Plymouth test showing fuel savings up to 70 percent with proper spring tune-up and driving techniques. A 1948 Plymouth Special Deluxe equipped with measuring gear demonstrated 50 percent gas savings on a 165 mile Detroit to Lansing run at 50 mph, and 60 percent on a 10 mile urban course. The tests, led by W. B. Rieg, found safer, moderate driving reduces stops and costs while conserving fuel.
