The Big Piney Town Basketball Team beat the 40's of Rock Springs 67 to 53 on Sunday. Dave Sanders and Bob Wison scored 16 and 15 points, with Rick Tefertiller adding 11 in the second half. Bertagnolli led Rock Springs with 28 points. The next Big Piney game is Sunday January 12 at 2 00 p m against Coors of Rock Springs.

In a medical journal history of Fort Sanders the 1869 Post Surgeon J H Frantz described the fort’s location and early buildings. He notes the elevated site with good drainage, artificial ditches, permeable soil of sand and gravel, rapid evaporation, and a sandstone substratum ten to fifteen feet thick beneath the surface.
