Bounties Bill Seeks 83000 In Cheyenne Funding

Mail from Representative Mickelson to Mayor Tanner notes an 83000 bounty fund appropriation. The letter cites 75000 for bounties plus 150 on coyotes and 15 on grey wolves and 8000 to repay previous bounties. It states the bill passed the House and will likely pass the Senate as the session ends.

Swanson Dunn Wedding Invitations Issued In Glencoe

Invitations went out this week for the marriage of Miss Elizabeth Dunn and Mr Sigurd Swanson in Glencoe at the bride’s mother home. The couple’s families include Mrs Anne Dunn who runs a hotel at a mining camp and Mr and Mrs Abel Swanson of Diamondville. Two hundred invitations were issued for the elaborate tomorrow evening ceremony. The Ladies Guild meets March 1 and the Young Ladies’ Society on March 3.

Fourteenth Legislature Signs Bills On Taxation and Duties

Enrolled acts include natural gas tax measure and bills for state institutions. Provisions cover prison board, emergency funds for the mental defectives school and industrial institution, court and reporter roles in the Seventh Judicial district, water charges lien, and nonpartisan education official elections. Other acts address livestock import, state veterinarian duties, water commissioners pay, irrigation tax exemptions, and related governance changes.

Bar ny Tibball Lou Nelson and Chris Burg traveled from Piney with James Bertram to Denver to attend the trial of Chris Juel a leading Rock Springs banker and property owner tied to a fatal Rock Springs accident. Garwood Garwood represent James V Ferrero and family seeking $2999 for death of a son and another $2999 for the injured boy in Denver suits served while Juel was in the city. The travelers will testify for the defense in the pending actions.

County Fairs Fund Ban Clarified by Attorney General

The Attorney General declares county commissioners may not appropriate funds for county fairs. Lincoln and Uinta counties are cited, with promoters left unpaid where funds were promised but not actually appropriated. Firm Fails Krupp Lost On Shipment

Henry Krupp, a local hide and fur buyer, arrived in Kemmerer after a New York firm he shipped to failed. A $200 shipment from Krupp was lost, and a $400 consignment was halted by Mrs. Krupp in New York. A St. Louis fur company collapsed earlier in the week. Krupp also bought over a thousand sheep pelts on his trip.

Woodmen to Give 3rd Annual Ball

The Woodmen of the World Big Piney Camp 851 plans its third annual ball with the Woodman Orchestra providing music. Supper will be served and a grand march led by the Camp Drill team and officers is planned. If weather is fair a large crowd is expected.
