Roy Murdock born March 11 1879 in Heber Utah died November 28 1918 at his mother's home in Heber after influenza and pneumonia. He leaves a wife his mother three brothers D C William H M W and two sisters Jane Hylte and Mary Murray. He served in the Big Piney Navy and managed the S G Murdock estate for years. The community extends sympathy to his family Mary A Murdock and children.

Thanksgiving Sermon At St John’s Mission By Rev Ward
Rev Mr W H Ward of Green River preached at St John’s Mission last Sunday at eleven oclock and administered Holy Communion to seven communicants. Ward divided the sermon into Thanks giving Victory and Advent. If Bishop Thomas cannot send a man before year end Ward will hold Christmas service on Sunday December 29.

Big Piney Schools Reopen After Flu Closure
Big Piney schools reopened Monday after nearly seven weeks of closure due to the flu. The school house had been fumigated and with no new cases, the school board deemed it safe to resume. Parents are urged to ensure regular attendance and on time arrivals. Frank Luce leaves for Detroit Michigan to study at Michigan State Auto School and will miss the rest of the term. John Bolinger arrives with easing for Cretaceous Oil Co as work resumes at the oil camp and a well is nearing completion.

Frank Phillips Returns to Aitkin After Jewelry Career
Frank Phillips the jeweler has disposed of his business and returned to his former home in Aitkin Minnesota after six months in Big Piney. He made many friends during his stay and his departure is much regretted. Oscar Beck left for Omaha last Sunday and will be away about two weeks, then will stop in Cheyenne for a Wyoming State Branch Commissioners meeting, of which he is a member.

Billy Woods of Daniel visited town earlier this week. Mrs. Chas Noble spent the week in Piney. L D Tanner made a quick trip to Opal and back Tuesday. Mrs R W Vickery of Marbleton received word that Mrs Geo W Vickery died of influenza in Laramie. Weather this week favorable after last week's bluster with temperatures down to 22 below. Thanksgiving reunion held at John Budd’s Meadow Canyon home with Budd family and Wm Mills present. Grover Trittipp expects to leave camp for Christmas with his parents in Fishers Indiana then head to Big Piney.
