The Congregational Church lists summer services with Sunday School at 10 and preaching at 11 in town. Marbleton branch offers Sunday School at 2 and preaching at 3 led by Rev. Geo F Wenrich, pastor.
The Church of St. John the Baptist lists Sunday school at 10:00 a.m. with services at 11:00 a.m. and 8:15 p.m. A litany is planned for Friday, August 31 at 7:45 p.m.
The Marbleton State Bank offers financial assistance to both sole proprietors and partnerships. It pledges to aid customers actively transacting business, asserting the bank remains attentive to patrons' interests.
In Big Piney precinct No. 1 the GOP dominated with 72 of 87 votes cast as no contests reduced Democratic turnout. Notable nominees included U S Senator C D Clark and Congressman F W Mondell on the Republican side, while Democrats named Kendrick for U S Senator and Clark for Congress alongside state and county offices.
The county slate shows contested sheriff, superintendent, attorney and representatives. J R McMinn leads Hansen for sheriff outside Star Valley by 230 votes, Reynolds pushes past Sammon for attorney, and Helen Miller holds a lead over Nicholson for superintendent. Kemmerer reports seven likely winners for representative with Jas Mickelson nominated. Local races saw Jas Black beat Linn for road supervisor and George Durnford defeating Roberts. Judiciary race tight between Preston and Arnold with county preferences split. Both candidates to appear on November ballot.
Miss Lydia Tanner returned the first of the week from Daniel where she has been visiting. Miss Lois Linn, who has been visiting friends at Daniel, has returned to Marbleton. J. Chas. Rumsch left for Kemmerer last Saturday morning in the Grant six.
Wenus joined Daniel Saturday night for a free dance in Barber and Pixley’s new store building. L. E. Bennett played piano, Jim Boston violin, and guests from Big Piney attended. Barber and Pixley covered all costs with a midnight feast and long celebration.
Friends mourn the infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Luce who arrived Sunday and died Tuesday. The funeral was held Thursday afternoon with interment in Big Piney cemetery. A dance at Halfway schoolhouse Saturday drew a large, appreciative crowd.
