Wyoming Game and Fish sells beaver pelts at Denver fur auction
The Wyoming Game and Fish Department sold 301 beaver pelts and other furs at the Denver fur auction held July 26. Beavers brought $1,976.75 total, $6.57 each, with a top price of $15 for 12 pelts. Other furs included 97 bob cats $5.75, 2 coyotes $2.50, 29 red foxes $1, 6 minks $1.50, 5 coons $1, plus three beaver castor ponds at $3.80 per pound. Furs were gathered last winter by state trappers.
