Mr and Mrs Irwin Covey long time operators of the Big Piney Garage sold the business to George Barp who has taken over management. He expects Texaco auditors to arrive to complete the deal in general.
The Second Overland Trail Trek will be guided by Lyle Hildebrand and Paul Henderson with Maurine Carley coordinating. The trek starts at 8 40 a m August 5 on Highway 1 five miles north of Saratoga at the Pick Ranch sign. Trekkers should bring food and water for the arid journey and may camp at Henry Baur ranch or arrange lodging in Wamsutter or Rawlins.
Wyoming Game and Fish announces resident antelope permits go on sale statewide Saturday August 12. Permits are area based and usually sold by Deputy Warden in the hunting area. Seven of 31 areas are already sold out to non residents: Badgers Basin Wind River Fremont Farson Funedale Big Piney Munchy Creek Eden and Poison Spider.
Stanley H. Cohlmeyer was named general superintendent of the Columbia-Geneva Steel Division’s Atlantic City Ore Mine near Lander Wyoming. L. F. Black announced the appointment as the company progresses toward completion of iron mining and beneficiation facilities late next year. Cohlmeyer will oversee operations and also continue as project manager during construction. He is a Wyoming figure and Illinois mining engineer graduate who served in World War I with the Army Corps of Engineers and later taught at Fort Leavenworth before returning to civilian life.
Football hopefuls must complete 15 organized practice sessions. First session at 5 30 AM in Big Piney Grade School. Openers include Cokeville Sept 8 and conference games at Pinedale Sept 15 Mountain View Sept 22 Lyman Oct 6 Saratoga Oct 13 and Hanna Oct 20.

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department announces a general sage grouse hunting season August 26 to 28 in 11 counties with a two day segment August 26 27 in Campus and Johnson Counties and a September 20 10 season in Park Washakie and Hot Springs Counties. Bag limit three birds per day. possession limit three. hours 7 am to dark in most areas and 7 am to 4 pm in Johnson and Campbell counties. Only single shot double barreled and repeating shotguns with no more than two shells in the magazine and one in the chamber are legal.
Dudley S$. Dean, acting manager of the Va Center Chessine in Wyoming, stated grown men and women may receive pension payments as children of deceased war veterans. Pensions continue until the child marries or regains self support, even if now adults, if they are unable to support themselves due to illness or disability.
The marriage of Mary Louise Dahlquist and Cletus Bind was held Saturday July 22 in Fort Bridger. The ceremony took place at 10:00 a.m. at St Helen's Catholic Church with Father James Godley officiating, and the couple is a native of Fort Bridger and niece of Arnold and Elmer Olson.
A new addition to Mr and Mrs Sheldon Windley of Evanston arrived July 23 1961 at Kemmerer hospital weighing 6 pounds 12 ounces. Miss Teetia Marie checked in at the hospital. Mrs Earl Yeaman of Carpet arrived home Sunday from Afton where she recently underwent major surgery.
