Reemployment Is Local Problem Outlined
Six major postwar development programs for Wyoming were presented by the state postwar planning committee in Cheyenne. The booklet stresses local responsibility, with government support but heavy reliance on free enterprise to create 24 000 new jobs after the war. It highlights irrigation, agriculture, highways, tourism, minerals, housing, and construction, forecasting up to 3 000 men employed on new irrigation projects and broad postwar employment through road, rail, and industry improvements. Governor Hunt forwards a fiscally cautious stance, seeking tax relief during war and a large highway program to aid rehabilitation.
