College rodeo program aims toward National Finals
The upcoming academic year will feature student rodeos. The National Collegiate Rodeo Association, founded in 1948, now has about 1,500 students from 51 schools across eight regions. Events include calf-roping, bulldogging, bareback and saddle bronc riding, goat tying, barrel racing, and more with academic eligibility required. Winners advance toward finals and possible national circuit careers, while others gain training and degrees.
