In Scarborough voters rejected a council manager form by 820 to 760. The proposal would have created a 13 member town council elected from six districts.
Thousands of U S combat troops pushed the hunt for Viet Cong in South Viet Nam's central highlands and Zone D, but results were meager. U S jets shot down two North and South Viet Nam aircraft. crews ejected and were rescued.
