Parenteau 70 retired grocer died at home 23 Gore Street Biddeford after a long illness He was born September 12 1889 in Danville Quebec and studied at St Charles Borromeo Sherbrooke College Victoriaville He owned Parenteau Market on Cleaves Street for 45 years and held roles in Catholic Order of Foresters Union St John de Baptist and the Credit Union of St Andre Parish He is survived by his wife six sons five daughters three brothers one sister 17 grandchildren and a great grandchild Friends may call Emond Funeral Home today Sunday and Monday Funeral services will be from St Andre Church Tuesday at 9 am

Albert Cabana aided by a Coast Guard small boat raised the truck chassis from the river. A man described as in his early 20s with a missing thumb was recovered from a rubber mattress. Medical examiner says drowning. The truck bore New Brunswick plate T-4989 and a two-person toll gate sighting is noted as the investigation proceeds with police in Scarborough and New Brunswick authorities alerted.
Mollie C Dunn 67 of 51 Graham Street Biddeford died suddenly last evening in a local hospital. Born in Somersworth NH daughter of James and Mary Lynch Dunn she moved to Biddeford as a girl attended St Mary Grammar School and St Joseph Academy Portland. She taught piano locally before 30 years with New England Telephone retiring January 1957. Survivors include cousin Pat Cooney Biddeford and aunt Margaret Lynch Saco. Funeral Tuesday at 9am from St Mary church. Cosgrove funeral home Elm Street Biddeford open for calling today tomorrow and Monday 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 pm.
Charleston officials announce that West Virginia Turnpike patrols will carry extra gasoline to provide enough fuel for drivers who run out of gas to reach the nearest service station. Turnpike Manager W. W. Stahl said patrols will distribute the extra cans.

Joel Donovan two and a half year old son of John B and Evelyn Donovan of Kennebunk died yesterday in a Biddeford hospital. He survived by four brothers and relatives. services set for tomorrow at 1 p.m. at Angell funeral home Kennebunk with burial in Hone Cemetery. Friends may call this evening at the funeral home.

Air Force officer Joe Kittinger completed his 41st parachute jump since 1956 as he rose from Holloman Air Force Base on White Sands missile range in an open balloon gondola. The record jump reached the highest altitude for parachute use and the highest ride in an open gondola, while the bucket sides measured about four feet high and four and a half feet in diameter. He piloted a T33 jet trainer from Wright Air Development Center to Holloman, recently moved from the missile center. The mission tested pressure suit comfort and physiological responses during ascent and descent.

Over 350 people attended an open rehearsal of the Kennebunk instrumental music program in the new Kennebunk High School gym. Participants included the Park Street Beginners Band, Park Street Band, and the Junior and Senior High concert bands. Sponsored by the Kennebunk Band Boosters, admission included a Booster membership. Directed by Alexander Economos, director of music in the schools.
A Randall Hall Nursing home delegation from Old Orchard Beach attended the all day Institute for Nursing Home Operators in Augusta. Sessions ran in the State House Senate chamber with groups from across the state, followed by luncheon at the Augusta House. The Old Orchard group signed the register with Louise Hall, Charles Merritt and Ida Roy Bolduc among others. The annual assembly aids those running Maine nursing homes.

Miss Marion Bradford Rowe of the Maine Historical Society will present a paper on the History of Maine and the Maine Historical Society at St Francis College Biddeford Sunday at 8 p m. Rowe, a Colby and Simmons graduate, joined the society in 1943 after research work on manuscripts relating to Maine history.
Medical Examiner Hugo Hochschild ruled that Daniel M. Collins, 62, died at his home from an accidental self inflicted rifle discharge. Hochschild said Collins had been living alone since his wife died last year and was cleaning a rifle when it fired into his heart.
Bates College named a room in Chase Hall Lewiston to honor Louis B Costello publisher of the Lewiston Sun Journal. Costello served as a board of trustees member for 43 years and the space will host meetings and private dinner groups.
