Joseph R Hubbard 52 of Camp Ground Road Arundel formerly of Kennebunk and Wells died last night in a York hospital. Born January 2 1917 in Wells he was a sawmill marker. He belonged to Veterans of Foreign Wars Wells Biddeford Saco Aerie Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Sportsmans Club Wells. Surviving are his widow Frances Smart Hubbard of Arundel one son Richard of Kennebunk four daughters Christine Gould of Kittery Frances Soucy of Gonic N Y Nancy Hubbard and Marsha Hubbard both of Kennebunk five brothers Wilbur Dover Edwin Valley Stream N Y Gordon Norman and Robie Hubbard all of Wells. Shuffleboard Tourney Plans Discussed At City Meeting

Town considers ordinances on beaches and camping

Robert Reid was reappointed Harbor Master. The resignation of Chester Cram as town counsel was accepted with regret. The town will use the services of a Maine Municipal Association lawyer until new counsel is obtained. The ordinances will be discussed further with the selectmen at a later date and a special town meeting may be called to vote on the issues.

Three Accidents Reported In Biddeford

Biddeford police report three accidents occurred yesterday on Highland Thornton and State streets. Roxanne Quincy, 18, and Edmond Gagne, 54, were involved on Highland Street. Yvonne Jolin, 67, and Pauline Bilodeau, 48, collided on Thornton Street. Helen Thomas, 20, and Mrs Tony Nunan, 29, tolled on State Street. no injuries reported.

Teachers Fight City Over May 16 Temporary Injunction Reversed

Justice Dufresne reversed his ruling last Friday in a case where the M TA fights the city over a May 16 alert. The court notes a strong chance of settlement while the alert stays in effect and teachers are advised not to accept positions in Biddeford.
