Spanish Family Ends Costly Search For Heir
Hanover New Hampshire AP. The family of Ignacio Fierro Jr a Dartmouth College student and heir to a Spanish banking fortune ended a two week river search after a canoeing accident on the Connecticut River. The effort involved state federal agencies Hanover firefighters Coast Guard Navy and many volunteers costing about 100000. The elder Fierro said all costs were paid and a 25000 donation was made to the Hanover Fire Department.

Freighter And Cutter Collide In Heavy Fog
A Brazilian freighter and the Coast Guard cutter Hornbeam collided in heavy fog 40 miles southeast of Nantucket. No injuries were reported. The Hornbeam sustained flooding and severe damage but remained afloat. The freighter Decelage continued to Philadelphia with unknown cargo.
