Auditorium Bond Referendum Sought For Old Orchard Beach
Old Orchard Beach committee chair Leo Larochelle said the group will ask the town council to send a bond issue for an $800000 auditorium to a June referendum or a summer special election. The plan envisions a 280 by 157 foot building with a 4,000 seat hockey configuration and 10,000 concert capacity, plus 1000 car parking and outdoor recreation facilities on Milliken Street. The project aims to boost year round activity and jobs while remaining self supporting.
