Wells Resident Elects To Serve Jail Sentence
Three men appeared in Biddeford Municipal Court this morning to answer five charges. Robert Gregoire of Wells pleaded guilty to drunken driving and driving after license suspension and elected to serve the sentences consecutively. He was ordered to pay fines totaling $350 or serve 9 days and 60 days respectively. The charges stem from a $400 Elm Street biddeford traffic accident that injured Sylvia Morneau and another person. Later, Lawrence Paul Abbott of Rutland Vermont and Raymond D. Deans of Glenhead New York faced other drunken driving and speeding charges with fines or short jail terms. Abbott had not yet paid a $150 fine at press time. Deans paid a $35 fine after a 75 mph in a 55 mph zone ruling and a temporary suspension was issued.
