Cushman Seeks Public Hearing on School Dress Code Plan

Cushman said he sent a letter to Burns School Principal William Bogas noting committee approval of the student council dress code but not adoption since it affects one school. He announced a Augusta hearing today on a municipal block grants bill ending the present school subsidy formula and shifting aid directly to communities, increasing Saco state aid from 376,690 to 900. The State Board of Education and State Superintendents Association oppose the measure, preferring earmarked education funding.
