NATO Ministers Narrow Rift Over Viet Nam Policy
NATO foreign ministers returned from their spring meeting in London after avoiding an open split over U.S. actions in Viet Nam and the Dominican Republic. Confessed Spy Thompson Sentenced to 30 Years
Robert Glenn Thompson, a former Air Force enlisted man from Long Island, pleaded guilty to conspiring with Russian personnel to steal U.S. military secrets. He was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Walter Bruchhausen in Brooklyn to 30 years in prison after his six year espionage activity. He was arrested January 7 at his Babylon service station following a March 8 guilty plea.

Johnson Offers Unconditional Talks on Viet Nam War

Clothing Workers Get Wage and Benefit Increases
John Roberts Inc. in Biddeford reaches a three year contract raising wages by 30 cents per hour with fringe benefits for 170 workers. June 1 increases include 12.2 cents and 10 cents per hour plus a seven and a half cent rise in old age pension and insurance, plus paid Christmas holiday and vacation with pay.
