Four Zebras freed by police in SF murder probe

San Francisco police say four of seven men arrested in the “Zebra” murders wave have been freed for lack of evidence. Thomas Manney, Clarence Jamerson, Dwight Stallings, and Edgar Burton were released after investigators found no viable charges. Remaining suspects Larry Green J C Simon and Manuel Moore face murder related charges and will appear before a county grand jury. Mayor Alioto flies to Washington to discuss a Death Angels theory with the U S attorney general.

Judge Dismisses McNally Case in Old Orchard Beach

A Superior Court justice dismissed former Old Orchard Beach Code Enforcer Robert J. McNallys $250,000 suit against the Town and four 1972 council members. Biddeford May See Cable TV Service This Fall

York Cable Company officials say Biddeford could have cable service by fall or winter after FCC certificate of compliance. The plan includes 5 to 6 outside Maine stations and local origination, with construction to start no later than June. Monthly charge is 5.75 with 9.95 installation, and a year to operation from FCC approval, plus 3 percent annual city revenue share.

Saco Council Affirms Utility Building Site Amid Parish Objections

The Saco City Council voted 5 to 2 to keep the parks and recreation department’s 30 by 49 foot maintenance building at its Peppere Park site opposite the Unitarian Universalist Church on School Street.
