Officers Elected By Snowshoe Club

New officers for Le Voltigeur Snowshoe club were elected at a meeting in the club hall and will be installed April 12 at the Unity club in Saco. The slate lists Yvon Caron as president with Paul Houde as vice president, Joseph Pelletier secretary, Henry Roberge treasurer, and Ernest Bineau collector of dues. Directors include Conrad Ruel Leo Brulotte and Leonel Gardner.

Last Of Old-Time Train Robbers Taken By Death

Bill La Trasse the last of the old time train robbers is dead at 77 in Denver after a life spent in and out of prison. He became notorious for a 1910 Missouri Pacific robbery between Kansas City and Leavenworth stealing 2000 dollars. He escaped prison in 1915 then served sentences until 1942 for a dice game holdup in Parsons Kansas.

Biddeford Woman Jailed After Assault on Mother

A 29 year old Biddeford woman Marvy Jane Frechette admitted pushing her 67 year old mother Monday night in Biddeford Municipal Court. Frechette was ordered sent to the Women's Reformatory in Skowhegan after guilty finding and a plea of innocent entered for the record. Court records note the mother lived in fear and spent time in her room to avoid further attacks. In a separate case Edward Kane of Portland was fined 19 dollars for operating a vehicle without a license with sentence suspended.

Beach VFW Auxiliary Elects Slate in Annual Meeting

Mrs Ruth Hamilton was elected president of the Beach VFW Auxiliary to the Old Orchard Beach Memorial post.
