Public Radio Call With Carter Seeks Few Callers

Talk show tests mettle of Ma Bell

Dept heads win breather in overtime pay row

In OLD ORCHARD BEACH the town council voted three to two to allow salaried department heads including the fire chief and police chief to continue receiving overtime and holiday pay. Saco police seek community help at city hall meeting

In Saco, a small audience of 13 heard Police Chief Amoroso and Captain Jamieson urge resident involvement after a door to door survey showed 70 of 100 homes willing to attend. Officers announced reserve patrols and programs like cadets and Senior Citizen Safety Watch to boost crime prevention.

Family Theater Planned at 133 Main St Biddeford

Kathleen OConnell reports Biddeford hosting a new family theater by end of April at 133 Main St in a former Army Navy recruitment site. Jean Audet of Channel 5 Boston plans limited weekend screenings with 60 seats and admission 150 for adults 1 for children and seniors. He aims for no R or X rated films and hopes to open full-time within a year if demand exists. The Navy office will move to 177 Main St and the Army center to the former Matson site around early April.
