CAPE PORPOISE Russell Bryant, a 63 year old retired sea captain, has built more than 600 feet of stone walls on his Wildes District Road property. He began seven years ago clearing rock on his seven and a half acre peninsula, turning the rocks into decorative and functional walls including retaining and serpentine designs. He quips Maine is full of rocks and stubborn people, and says the wall work is his lifelong dream and an extension of his hands on labor after years at sea.
