Plane crash at Mojave kills two before California National Air Races

A P-51 Mustang piloted by Ken Burnstine of Balboa Island crashes on final approach to Mojave Airport killing Burnstine and an unknown passenger. The craft malfunctioned while landing and Burnstine had won the 1974 Reno air race. Coroner holds bodies for ID and kin notification. Royal Glint to start in the 100000 Massachusetts Handicap at Suffolk Downs with Jose Tejeira aboard.
