Reds Slay Army Officers in Viet Nam Ambush

Two U S Army officers were killed in a Communist Viet Cong ambush of a government convoy about 30 miles north of Saigon. Flight Engineers Hold Strike Threat Across Three Airlines

Washington AP The Flight Engineers International Association AFL CIO threatens a walkout against Pan American Eastern and Trans World Airlines. With 1 700 engineers having twice rejected Kennedy arbitration terms over crew manning, a strike could suspend 40 percent of U S air service, affecting 60 000 domestic and 20 000 international passengers daily. Kennedy condemned the adamant stance and warned of harm to the economy.

Detroi t AP Union officials warned that bar hood s doors and roofs at Ford plants faced long closures as talks with Ford Motor Co stalled.
