AAUW North Atlantic Regional Meet Opens in Kennebunk Beach
Mrs Carl Landry Hollis Center officiated at the opening session of the North Atlantic Regional AAUW conference held at the Atlantis hotel Kennebunk Beach with Dr Anna L Rose Hawkes national president as keynote. New England representatives attended with co chairmen of dinner arrangements Mrs William Harrison Saco and Mrs Chester Parker Bridgton. Dr Margaret Dickie presided and Mrs George Love moderated a panel. Conference kits were prepared by Mrs Thomas Moore with assisted by Mrs Jon Nathanson Mrs Joseph Cole and Mrs Homer Wentzell. The theme urged members to be doers not spectators and to advance education for girls and better careers.

Boy Bound Over For Stabbing Young Girl
A 15 year old boy held for the fatal stabbing of 14 year old Avis Longfellow near Augusta is bound over to the October grand jury on a juvenile citation. The court withheld the name and found him a dangerous person and a menace to the community. No specific charge or plea was entered.

Small Vote Predicted For Primary Monday
