Nationwide Insurance of Columbus expands into Maine after success in neighboring states. The mutual car insurer, 34 years old, serves 24 states with drive-in claim service and low-cost policies. Offices open in Portland and Lewiston led by experienced personnel.
John J Keegan Jr formerly of Queens County New York will direct Nationwide activities as district manager in Portland. He joined Nationwide in September 1949 as an agent and later led the Staten Island district. In Portland his duties include recruiting agents guiding office procedures and coordinating sales and claims in Cumberland and York Counties. He is married with five children and plans to move to Portland soon.
Nationwide introduces a broad slate of plans in Maine including life insurance integrated with family financial planning sickness and accident coverage income protection major medical hospitalization auto liability and more.
