The Maine League of Women Voters publishes a nonpartisan ETV referendum flyer in Augusta and accepts the resignation of Cape Elizabeth’s Mrs. Robert Patten as second vice president. Mrs. Donald Cunningham of South Portland replaces her as voter service. The league notes no one may speak for the board against its decisions and defends not publishing a pro con flyer to avoid bias.

Campaign Expenses Are Filed

Preliminary expense reports from three major candidates are on file in the State Election Division. The filing period is active this week following legislative changes. Four Saco youths ordered held on burglary charges

Probable cause was found in South Portland Municipal Court to bound over four Saco youths to Cumberland County Superior Court for breaking, entering and larceny at the R and C Speed shop in South Portland. Bail set at 3000 dollars each. Garside, 17, led a 90 mile an hour lights-out chase along Route One before being arrested in Scarborough. The others were arrested near the Saco Scarborough line. A quantity of auto supplies valued at nearly 1000 dollars was found in Garside's car.
