Army LSD tests on 1500 soldiers and civilians revealed

Washington AP says about 1500 participated in U S Army sponsored LSD studies in the 1950s and 60s. Some 585 were tested directly at Edgewood Fort Benning Fort Bragg and Dugway. About 900 civilians were studied at Maryland Wisconsin Washington Tulane. Army seeks to contact original volunteers for evals. 34 Benning soldiers examined at Walter Reed with results due later. One Benning subject is reported dead in Vietnam.

Jellyfish Sighted Locally At Area Beaches

Lifeguards report jellyfish sightings Friday at Camp Ellis near the sand bar with a two foot diameter purple blob. Two lifeguards at State Park Beach and about four others were stung. beach closed and swimmers urged out of water. A larger three foot jellyfish with six foot tentacles was seen at Ferry Beach. stung individuals were treated at Webber Hospital for allergy reaction. Calamine lotion and raw meat cited as recommended antidotes.
