NASA announced the Apollo and Soyuz spacecraft would link up and be visible in New England and beyond for four minutes each night on Thursday and Friday. Observers from Augusta to Providence would see a bright star moving from northwest to southeast, with angles and times specified for each city. The pair, launched Tuesday and linked Thursday at 140 miles up, will be visible across 65 percent of Earth’s land areas, weather permitting. The Apollo craft, polished with reflective aluminum, will outshine the Soyuz, which reflects less light.
