Twelve Enroll At St. Francis For College Summer Session

St Francis college Biddeford announces 12 students in summer session for education and liberal arts. Eleven are post graduate or undergraduate students from American and European institutions enrolling in accredited courses. Officer Arrests Assailant While Shot Near Heart

Bath Maine police report Sgt Merle D Niles was shot near the heart while answering a call but he arrested George A Conrad before collapsing. Niles was taken to Bath Memorial Hospital in fair condition with a damaged rib from a .22 revolver. Conrad faces an attempted murder charge to be arraigned.

First UN Troops Arrive In Congo To Restore Order

Ghana delivers the first token detachment under UN Security Council orders to stabilize the chaotic Congo. Maj. Gen. Henry Alexander and troops set up HQ in a downtown hotel while UN commander Maj.
