Wells Harbor May Get Improvements
The Army board of engineers has recommended improvements for Wells harbor in Maine including an anchorage basin, a channel from the Atlantic to the basin, and two stone jetties at a cost of 540000 dollars with 340000 paid by the federal government. At South Bristol the plan envisions a channel through the gut and a swing bridge for about 100000 dollars with 98000 funded by the government. If approved by the Chief of Army Engineers, Congress will be asked to authorize and appropriate funds.
