Three Football Rules Ban Injury-Causing Schemes
The Football Rules Committee of the NCAA bans fake fair catch signals and other tricks that lead to injuries. New rules penalize risky actions by safeties and linemen, restore punt snap freedom, and adjust numbering for eligibility. QBs may consult multiple coaches during timeouts, timeouts shorten, and the clock stops on first downs. Interceptions carried into the end zone by momentum will be ruled dead at the spot of the interception unless the runner exits.
