Waterboro Man Found Guilty Of Rape Charge
Donald E. Day Jr. of Waterboro was found guilty by a York County Superior Court jury after two hours of deliberation of raping a 16 year old Sanford girl on November 2. Day remains free on $10,000 bail pending sentencing by Justice Abraham Rudman. A separate drunken driving charge against Roland L. Frechette of Biddeford was ordered filed on $100 costs. Drunken driving appeal cases were set for today.

The University of Maine trustees approved a two year $50 increase in room and board bringing the current $750 rate to $775 for the school year. They also set an FY next budget of $11,031,626 a six percent rise to fund merit pay hire more faculty and meet enrollment projections. They foresee full time student growth at Orono by up to 41 percent by 1970 and 105 percent at Portland.
