A Hartford man, Samuel J. Chabotte Jr., 29, is charged with murder in the fatal shooting of Roland Gaudreau, 27, formerly of Biddeford. Gaudreau, unemployed mechanic, was shot after resisting a robbery on a Hartford street Monday night, dying later at a city hospital. Police say a small revolver caused the wound. Chabotte confessed after questioning. Gaudreau, born November 1 1935 in Sanford, had lived in Hartford two years after moving from Biddeford. He left behind parents at 433 Elm Street Biddeford and several siblings. Funeral arrangements are handled by Sansoucy Funeral Home, Biddeford.
