Department supervisors include Jillian Jakeman, Lydia Flood, Florence Sawyer, Dorothy Grace, Emma Lougee, Mary Renell, Everett Ladd, Harley Scammon, Albert Eunson, Verna Taylor, and Florence Johnson in various departments. U.S. to supply more military aid for Congo operation

The United States is poised to announce new military assistance for the United Nations Congo mission. Reed And Council In Session On Corrected Vote

AUGUSTA AP Gov Reed and the Executive Council approved a corrected tabulation of the Nov 6 gubernatorial election showing Reed with 146 604 votes to 146 121 for Democrat Maynard C Dolloff. The margin shrank from 621 to 483 after reporting errors by local officials. The council also approved a 25000 loan from the contingency fund to supple ment the original appropriation for the state's District Court.

Factor Defends Pardon From President Kennedy

Chicago’s American quoted Factor saying he did not buy his pardon and that the records show it was open and above-board. He offered that he would have paid $1 million to Atty. Gen. Kennedy or the fundraising committee if asked, denying any linkage to party contributions. The pardon followed two years of investigation and came after deportation proceedings were started, and Factor recalled a past 1933 claim of being kidnapped by Roger Touhy.

Careless Americans Lose Huge Sums Tempt Crooks

Careless Americans reportedly drain more than 700 million dollars a year in cash by leaving money unguarded at hotels and homes and while traveling or shopping. A survey cited by Michael Fooner of the Association for Applied Psychoanalysis notes 942 million adults lose cash annually, averaging 75 dollars each, with some losses exceeding 200 dollars. Women lose money more often than men during shopping and travel, while the high rate of disappearances is attributed to skilled pickpockets and subconscious fears and tendencies.
