Capt Charles R. Hersum USNR 76 of Kennebunkport died in a Biddeford nursing home after a long illness. Born Waterville July 30 1898 he held Colby College and Georgetown degrees and served in multiple government roles before Navy duty in World War II. Surviving are his widow Alyce and several nieces and nephews. memorial services will be announced. A second obituary notes Lydia Croteau 77 of Biddeford died after a lengthy illness with services at St Joseph Church and burial in Biddeford.
