Saco Water Proposal Would Tap Customers

Water customers of the Biddeford and Saco Water Co would pay a small share of bills to finance a Buxton Road water main extension in Saco. The plan, proposed by Atty John Feehan to the Saco city council ad hoc pollution committee, would have the city build the 9,000 foot line and the water company reimburse over time, likely after a PUC rate increase. With costs over 100000 and annual revenue about 3000, the plan would conflict with PUC policy unless cross-subsidies are used.
