Babylonian World of Nebuchadnezzar and Biblical Visions
The excerpt paints a lavish, corrupt Babylon under Nebuchadnezzar with great temples and the royal palace. It traces Daniel and the prophetic arc from Daniel to Isaiah and Ezekiel, noting Daniel’s defense of faith, Belshazzar’s doom, and the rise of Cyrus. It highlights the Second Isaiah vision of restoration and messianic hope, ending with the prophecy quoted by Jesus in Nazareth and a foreshadowing of liberation for exiles.
