Special Town Meeting Set At Kennebunk
A Kennebunk special Town Meeting will convene at Town Hall to consider high school expansion, an altered Lower Town hall for a communication center, and the James C. Littlefield fund of 829,914. Articles include street lights, and transferring 483 for high school alterations. Votes last November rejected the high school project. the Littlefield fund may be diverted to education. The plan suggests about 210,000 with broad municipal board support, including the Selectmen, Assessors, Budget Board, Planning Board, and School Board. The communication center could seek federal aid under accelerated public works, with an estimated cost near 18,000, possibly financed by excise tax funds. The alarm system delay stems from the light and power district decision to not handle it next spring. A dance is set for December 22 at Old Orchard Beach High.
