Biddeford Savings Bank plans Main St expansion

Biddeford Savings Bank announced a substantial renovation and expansion of its Main Street facility to add offices and customer interview areas on the north side, a mini park, drive up and walk in teller windows, a night depository, and space for future electronic banking. The redesign will include a customer lounge, more tellers, a new accounts department, safe deposits, and extended hours. The project aims to respect the building’s colonial charm with completion expected in early 1976. Architects are Wadsworth Dimick Mercer Weatherill. bids are due this month with local subcontractors anticipated. The bank, founded in 1867, is the city’s largest hometown bank with assets over 36 million dollars.

Striking Officers Ignite Chase With Teens at Station

Police say inside Mission station striking officers turned off lights and joined a chase as three teens fled to an auto. Terrence Ng 19 Calvin Woo 18 and Mike Ming Loo 19 were arrested for investigation of attempted murder and assault on a police officer after a foot wound to one suspect. Shot from a heavy caliber rifle at a construction site. Nonstriking officers detained Thomas Oxtien 50 at a bar. No serious injuries reported.
