Bay State Man Rescued From Merriland River
Edward Lawless, 45, of Everett Mass, was rescued from the roof of his camper after his trailer swerved off the Turnpike bridge into the Merriland River in Wells. Kennebunk Firemen Vic Sampson and Marlon Lebarge aided his rescue, and he was taken to Webber Hospital for observation. Deane H. Smart, 26, of Carmel, and two passengers were not injured. State Trooper Ronald Randall led the operation.
