Biddeford Post Office Bids Opened
Sealed bids for a new post office site were opened with Fransway Realty Co., Boston, named apparent low bidder at 47 488 yearly rental. Maine bidders included McCloskey & Co and Maine Uniframe Inc. The site at Alfred and Washington Streets will cover 11 233 interior and 23 140 parking square feet. The current building will be handed to the General Services Administration or sold if unused. Land owners include Danas, Letrourneau, Paquette, Mayne Realty, and others totaling 60 825 square feet. The Danas parcel traces a long chain of ownership ending with Arthur G.
