Two Admit on Havana Raid Committed by Plane Crew
A plane crew recounted a daring Havana raid first described on page one. They flew low over the treetops toward the Esso Shell refinery and its 100 foot flame tower. After two passes and a napalm drop they fled toward the coast, claiming no ground fire and noting Castro’s ground role and a Cuban bomb mission. The student said he had explosives knowledge and doubted U.S. policy but believed the mission showed it was possible to enter a target and escape.
